Focolare Movement Centre
The Focolare Movement is an international movement, and works for unity in all aspects of life. It has drawn people together for sixty years of all Christian traditions and from many of the world's religions, alongside people with no formal faith, who share the aim of building a more united world.
The Focolare Movement had a requirement to refurbish existing premises, upgrading numerous services throughout the centre. As part of this refurbishment Trescray were drafted in to re-design the existing and install a new addressable Fire System in the building to comply with BS5839: 2002.
Trescray completed surveying and investigative works to establish the current state of the system of which required strip out works of the existing panels, cabling and components across the scheme.
Trescray proposed a new addressable system with the existing detection put onto zone monitors and linked into the new addressable system.
The new system allows for quicker detector response times and ease of evacuation discovery, plus the new addressable system has been designed to have full location text and individual addressing per head.
Extensive new FP cabling was installed through the centre for the detectors situated in the loft voids and ceiling voids. The call points were neatly surface mounted and installed across the site along with powered sounders throughout.
Wayne Duck, Trescray’s Fire Specialist and Project Manager commented, “Trescray were delighted to be involved in this project. Trescray continues to grow in all aspects of the services offered to its clients and this projects adds another large installation on its fire systems portfolio.”
