Oxford University had a requirement for a complete and well designed installation at their new Gene Centre.

The centre undertakes research into the genetic basis of multifactorial diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, infectious diseases, psychiatric disorders, multiple sclerosis, and asthma.

With access to large patient collections and the Division’s considerable strengths in complex disease mapping, the cabling system to be installed required had to be robust and well planned.

This installation consisted of 1500 Molex Category 5e outlets throughout four floors of the Oxford Gene Centre.

The project also incorporated multiple voice and fibre optic backbone links to numerous hub room locations.
