This leading global financial data service company required a state of the art data centre to act as a hub of the UK operations.
Trescray completed the installation of 4000 Brand-Rex OM3 Fibre Optical backbone links complemented with Brand-Rex category 6 cables at their Headquarters site in Basildon.
Trescray had the difficult task of installing this infrastructure in a short timescales to enable the organisation to stay on-line.
In addition to the main Headquaters building Trescray installed a comprehensive cabling system into a satellite office which also housed their main data centre. This site comprises of warehouse storage facility of 12,500 square feet and office space of 7,700 square feet over the ground and first floors.
The refurbishment works are inclusive of a fully integrated Category 6 standard compliant, resilient Structured Cabling System (SCS) to all areas of all floors across the building.
The building was converted to form a secure, resilient and autonomous data centre and operations control room, plus an expansion of the upper floor level into the high warehouse space has been set out as general open office space.
The new data centre distributes the IT cabling services throughout the building for both the office areas and the data centre itself. This centre supports all of IFDS core systems and services, core layers of the IT network and provides backup to their main premises in Basildon. The new data centre is also designed to house a Storage Area Network (SAN).
